Leap Ahead with LeadersUp
As the month of February comes to an end, I want to take a moment to send a note of gratitude to our partners and supporters that have made LeadersUp month four impactful weeks of advancing our collective mission to end the youth unemployment and talent-divide challenge. This month was filled with extraordinary on-the-ground moments from participating in the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative’s Los Angeles Fair & Forum to preparing young adults with essential career skills—below is a recap of our favorite moments.
More than 300 Angelenos received career readiness trainings through our Winning in the Workplace labs. LeadersUp partnered with community organizations including The Brotherhood Crusade, LA Southwest College, Job Corps, and Faithful Central Bible Church to provide hundreds of young adults with mock interviews, resume building, on-the-spot mentoring and assistance creating LinkedIn profiles. Supporting the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative’s launch in Los Angeles by helping to prepare young adults for interviews and providing career mapping services on-site. This inspiring and transformative event connected more than 1,000 opportunity youth to employment pathways. Check out some of the excitement here.
In celebration of Black History Month, LeadersUp launched Be The Next. This campaign spotlights African American leaders across industries who are inspiring the next generation of talent. Each day we raised awareness of successful community members to empower young adults to pursue their dreams. Check out the exceptional people highlighted here.
LeadersUp month is just the beginning. Help us build off the momentum gained by joining our movement to eradicate the talent-divide and youth unemployment challenge.
