Women Bridging the Talent Divide

In honor of Women’s History Month, each day LeadersUp will highlight the work of remarkable women in the workforce who are helping bridge the talent-divide in their respective communities. From Congresswoman Karen Bass who strives to ensure the success of foster youth to Civil Rights Activist Dolores Huerta who continues to address the issues affecting today’s opportunity youth, the list of women who have and continue to play a central role in shaping today’s talent is beyond inspirational.

Throughout the month of March, we will explore key issues that young women of color, who consistently face wider opportunity gaps, continue to encounter in the workplace today. Recommendations on how to address the challenges will be offered, along with an insight into the effective solutions that LeadersUp implements in its talent recruitment process to secure meaningful career pathways for young women.

Although great achievements have been secured for women in the workplace, a stark 56% of the female population between the ages of 16–24 are currently unemployed[1]. With these alarming numbers, we need to continue to address the barriers women face on their career paths and create lasting solutions for true equity to be achieved, not only for young women, but opportunity youth across the nation.
